About me

I have been writing software for over nine years, most of it in the backend of systems that cannot fail: payment and self-service platforms for retail, and claims management systems for insurance.

My work usually starts before the code: understanding the business problem, deciding where to draw the boundaries between services, and choosing the pattern that will survive the next two years. Then comes the rest: Java and Spring Boot, .NET, Kafka to decouple, Docker and Kubernetes to deploy, and automated tests to sleep well at night.

I am also interested in how AI is changing the way we build software. I use Claude Code with the BMad methodology in my daily work, not to have it write the code for me, but to structure the process: technical specification, architecture, stories, and critical review of what it produces. I have documented it and even taught it as training.

Outside of formal work I build my own products: mobile apps published on the App Store and Google Play, automations, and a couple of businesses where I am my own most demanding customer.

I studied Electronic Engineering in Computing at Universidad Pablo Guardado Chávez. I live in Tuxtla Gutiérrez, Chiapas, Mexico.

When I close the laptop I am fairly predictable: football, video games, running, cycling, or swimming. And what I enjoy most: being at home with my family.
